W. Thomas Kirton, CIP, Q.Med
Thomas began his career in insurance litigation with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia in 2016. In 2024, he earned his Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation, further solidifying his expertise in the field. Most recently he has obtained his Q. Med certification via ADR BC.
Mediation marks Thomas’ third career. He initially worked as a geologist in a remote mining community in Northern Ontario before transitioning into insurance, where he specialized in resolving personal injury claims with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. Throughout his tenure at ICBC, he successfully resolved over 1,000 personal injury claims, gaining extensive experience in claim evaluation, negotiation, and resolution.
In 2025, Thomas founded WTK Mediations, where he has since found success helping parties navigate disputes and reach practical, mutually acceptable resolutions. Drawing on his litigation and claims background, he is particularly effective at identifying common ground, managing risk, and guiding parties toward efficient outcomes.
